Event Dates
Event/Exhibition location
Royal Society Room, TMAG, 12pm

Ecological restoration is emerging as an important method for improving environmental and socio-economic outcomes. NRM South has delivered several important projects in marine and aquatic habitats over the last 5 years. In this presentation, Program Manager for Water and Marine, Jennifer Hemer, will provide an overview of what has been achieved, challenges and lessons learned, and share NRM South priorities for the next 5 years.

NRM South is one of 54 Natural Resource Management organisations across Australia, and a preferred partner for the Australian Government. They work to keep the natural and productive landscapes of south-eastern Tasmania healthy over the long term. NRM South play a key role in building partnerships, securing and directing investment, connecting knowledge and expertise to action and increasing the capacity of others to engage in NRM activities. The Water and Marine Program delivers projects and actions to improve the health, function and condition of Tasmania’s aquatic assets to build resilience to threatening processes. Their recent restoration projects have restored native oyster reefs, temperate saltmarsh wetlands, seagrass, riparian zones and supported research and development for restoration of Giant Kelp forests.

Our Lunchtime Talks series is supported by Arts Tasmania.
