Locally it will focus on the Australian and Tasmanian Maritime Heritage including the restoration work on the May Queen. Then it will inform of the use of Couta Boats of Victoria and their work in Bass Straight including the restoration of Storm Bay

The Art Exhibition

The program also includes an exhibition and auction of local Marine Art by Bill Mearns including some of his scale models. There will also be on display a scale model of the yacht Terra Linna by Noel Hall.

Funds raised from the Forum will be used to restore the yacht Terra Linna circa 1880 which is owned by the Wooden Boat Guild of Tasmania Incorporated. The yacht has recently been included in the Australian National Maritime Museum's Historic Vessels Register.

The painting by Bill Mearns of Rhona H, depicted at right, has been donated to the Guild and all proceeds from the auction of that painting will go towards the Terra Linna restoration fund. More of Bill's paintings can be seen at the Gallery of the Australian Society of Marine Artists.
