Maritime Times No 67 Winter 2019

1st Jun 2019

The acquisition of a significant artwork - a portrait of ship Lady East that brought 208 male convicts to Van Diemen's Land in 1826, as well as assisted migrants in 1833 - gives pause for reflection on the many aspects of maritime art. This issue looks at cartography, photography, cartoons, tattoos and sculpture. With digressions into photogrammetry and the museum's project ot produce digital models of Tasmanian boats as well as the making of a 3d printed picture frame this is acolourful and entertaining edition. The pork pie recipe is pretty good, too.
